Notes: Monocentropus balfouri are the only true communally living tarantulas currently available within the hobby. There are a few other species out there that will tolerate each other to an extent but none are truly communal, unlike balfouri. This species does well living in groups, we always leave the spiderlings with the females to raise as they will actively kill prey to feed their young resulting in healthy large spiderlings once separated for sale. If you’re looking to breed, separating females from communes is recommended as they often wont produce otherwise, its also good practice to remove males once matured.
